Creamy, delicious homemade peanut butter cups! So simple with only 4-ingredients. Dairy-free and vegan.
I have been craving Reese’s peanut butter cups lately! But since I’ve been dairy-free, they are off-limits for me, so I wanted to figure out another way to enjoy the delicious little bites of chocolate and peanut butter.
Enter these super easy (and vegan and dairy-free) peanut butter cups! They’re the perfect little bite, and can be made with any type of chocolate you like, dark, semi-sweet, or white (just check the ingredients to make sure it’s vegan and dairy-free if that’s what you’re going for).

These peanut butter cups are so easy that I was able to make them and take photos in the time my 6-month old took a nap! Start by lining a mini muffin pan with 12 mini baking cups.
Melt the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Drizzle a bit into each baking cup. Put the muffin pan in the fridge so the chocolate can harden.
While the chocolate is cooling, mix together the peanut butter and powdered sugar. Take the muffin pan out of the fridge and put a teaspoon of the peanut butter mixture into each cup.
Drizzle with the rest of the chocolate so the peanut butter is covered and then sprinkle with sea salt. Refrigerate until the chocolate has hardened. Then enjoy!
Ingredients
These easy peanut butter cups only need four ingredients: chocolate, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and sea salt. To keep these vegan and dairy-free, check your chocolate and powdered sugar labels carefully!
- Peanut butter: Use any creamy peanut butter you’d like! Crunchy could be a fun variation as well. If using a natural version that separates, make sure to stir well before incorporating the powdered sugar.
- Chocolate: Many versions of chocolate are dairy-free, look at the label carefully for any milk products. However, some of those brands may use regular sugar, so to keep these vegan, make sure to look for vegan chocolate. Both semi-sweet and dark chocolate work well in this recipe!
- Powdered sugar: Some commercially available versions of sugar use bone char in the processing as a decolorizing filter. Look for a brand that’s marked vegan to avoid this.
- Sea salt: Good quality sea salt flakes are key to this recipe. My husband brought back this Jacobsen sea salt from a trip to Oregon and it’s been my favorite finishing salt ever since. Maldon sea salt flakes are another more economical option.
