This fresh peach salsa is perfect for summer: juicy, ripe peaches and jalapeno create a sweet & spicy condiment that works equally well with chips, salmon and chicken.
I’m always disappointed by store-bought salsa. I love fruit salsa, and when I open a new jar I anticipate the perfect balance of sweet and spicy, chunky and juicy. But salsas at the store always tend to be bland and watery. Last weekend there was a display case piled high with fresh Georgia peaches at my grocery store, so I thought I would take advantage of peach season and make my own peach salsa to get the perfect balance of ingredients. We had the fresh peach salsa with grilled salmon. It would be just as good over chicken or as a condiment for tortilla chips.
How to Make Fresh Peach Salsa
Homemade peach salsa is so simple. You’ll dice up fresh peaches, chop cilantro, mince jalapenos and onion, and juice a lime. Add to a bowl, mix together, and add some salt. When cutting up the jalapeno learn from my mistakes – wear gloves or wash your hands really well right after cutting. My skin was tingling for hours from hands were burning for hours from the capsaicin.
Feel free to substitute whatever fresh fruit you can find. Pineapples, nectarines, or mangoes could all be substituted here. If you’re one of the unfortunate few that can’t stand cilantro (my sister is one of them), the recipe will still taste great without it. Depending on the level of spice your family likes, use anywhere from 1/2 to 2 jalapenos.

Delicious! Made this last night with nectarines instead of peaches and enjoyed with grilled chicken. Easy and refreshing!
I agree, homemade fruit salsa is so much better than store-bought! I never thought of making peach salsa, but you’re inspiring me to give it a shot. Nice recipe!
This peach salsa would be so yummy on some fish tacos. And it’s so easy to make!
I agree with you, store bought fruit salsas always disappoint me too! I think my store has peaches on sale, so this will go on the menu this weekend!
What a beautiful looking salsa. Some of my favourite summer flavours here.
seriously a brilliant salsa.. I love peach and this salsa on salmon will be spectacular thanks for posting it!
Wow, this Peach Salsa looks wonderful, so many awesome ingredients—peaches being my favorite one.
This salsa looks so delicious and perfect for hosting! I love the idea of using peach in salsa – so creative!
I so agree – store-bought salsas are so disappointing! I am at the point now where I only buy them if I need them as an ingredient for some other sauce, etc. (I love them in chili!) but not to use on their own as salsa. I make something similar to this with mango, and am absolutely in love with the idea of using peaches now while they’re so in season. Great recipe!!
Fresh & delicious – a few of my favorite things!
oh that is a perfect summer salsa!! I love a fruit salsa, it goes just as well with grilled meat as it does with chips 🙂
Wow! This peach salsa looks like the perfect addition to any food!
